"Thingyan" Myanmar New Year's Water Festival |

The Thingyan Festival is the New Year occasion held in Myanmar throughout the country. Myanmar people take part in the traditional water-throwing activities, go to pagodas and stupas to perform good deeds and keep Precepts, pay respects to elderly persons and do charity.
For the year 2007, Myanmar New Year's Holidays of the Union of Myanmar had been designated from the 12th to the 21st of April and the "Thingyan" New Year Water Festival will be celebrated from the 13th to the 16th April. During "Thingyan", everything is closed: restaurants, shops, markets, Museum, etc. |

For the year 2007, the MMC will organize
the Mystical Myanmar FAM Trips: 9 Days
/ 8 Nights covering Yangon, Bagan,
Mandalay, and Inle Lake, and additionally,
the Classic Myanmar FAM Trips and Fascinating
Myanmar FAM Trips: 5 Days / 4 Nights
covering Yangon, Bagan, and Mandalay or Inle
respectively for 12 fixed departure
dates.
These familiarization trips are hosted
by MMC members, with the objective to give
as many of our colleagues in the tourism
industry the opportunity to visit and inspect
tourism destinations and facilities in
Myanmar.

| Asian - Pacific Dilmah Tea Sommelier Competition 2007 |

With the initiative and support from World Association of Chefs Societies and Myanmar Chefs Association, Myanmar will be presented at Asian - Pacific Dilmah Tea Sommelier Competition 2007 organized by Dilmah Tea & Chefs Guild of Lanka on the 27th of March 2007 at Hilton Hotel Colombo in Sri Lanka.
The other participating teams will be from Australia, China, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, Maldives, Myanmar, New Zealand, Philippines, South Korea, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Thailand.
In preparation to this, the Myanmar National Tea Sommelier Show 2007 will also be held by the end of February in front of Thamada Hotel in Yangon between 15:00 and 17:00 pm.
