EXTENSION 1: KYAIKTIYO, THE GOLDEN ROCK

The magnificent Golden Rock Pagoda is a small stupa enshrined with the Buddha's Hair Relic resting on top of a huge boulder, which is completely covered by gold leaves and balances delicately on the edge of a cliff of Kyaiktiyo Mountain. A spectacular view atop is not to be missed especially at sunrise or sunset. Accommodation is arranged at Golden Rock Hotel inclusive of breakfast. There is combination of transport by coach for about 5-hour drive from Yangon to Kyaiktiyo, a 45-minute up the mountain by truck from the base camp to the Golden Rock Hotel, and a 45-minute walk up on foot to the Golden Rock Pagoda.
