The Executive Committee Members (EXCOM) of the Myanmar Marketing Committee (MMC) has initiated its relief effort together with the Union of Myanmar Travel Association for the Cyclone Nargis Victims by sending aid directly to those who are desperately in need at Phya Pone District and nearby villages at lower Ayeyarwady Delta consisting of the following: -
- Clothing
- Medicine
- Bags of Rice
- Bags of Dhal
- Bags of Potato
- Drinking Water
- Ground Sheets
- Cooking Aids and Utensils
- Antiseptic Soaps & Detergent
- Blankets, Mosquito Nets and other Household Goods
As of June 2008, the Myanmar Tourism Cyclone Relief Team had been able to reach out to 5,000 families residing at 70 villages with aid items worth US$ 80,000 approximately both in cash and in kind.

Furthermore, the Myanmar Tourism Cyclone Relief Team is now involving in rehabilitation processes as the 2nd phase of ongoing relief effort, especially in the educational field by rebuilding and repairing schools.
Members of the travel trade are also urged to look into the possibilities of donating cash or in kind for such humanitarian assistance as they desire.
Cash donations could be sent to MMC Office at Traders Hotel, Level 3 - Business Centre and or other donations in kind to be delivered directly to MMC's Storage of Nargis Relief Aid at Inya Lake Hotel by contacting through the Reception.
